Have you ever wanted to write a short story, why not have someone start one and have others add and see what we come up with, sound like fun?
Just add the next paragraph or chapter in the comments and I will add it to the story. I will start it, so let’s have some fun.
1. Ouch! Jamie yelled. Kirk one of Lincoln High bullies had made a snowball with a small rock in it and had thrown it at Jamie hitting him on the side of his neck.
Jamie looked at the grinning Kirk. He didn’t say anything but he was thinking. One of these days I am going to get even.
Jamie is a junior at Lincoln High average size for his sixteen years and has bright red hair almost orange with freckles on his face and arms which he always hated and from grammar school on other kids would tease him to where he would have thought after all this time, they would have started leaving him alone. But there is always a bully.
He is a loner but gets good grades in school and doesn’t join any school activities. Few kids talk to him and if they do its just a short hello and they move on. Jamie is lonely.
it is Friday and Jamie has no idea what he is going to do. The final bell rings and the kids at Lincoln High head out for the weekend. Jamie walks to his home. On the way, he sees a magazine on the ground. He picks it up and hurries home. He lives with his mother. His parents are divorced and he very seldom sees his Dad. His mother works and is usually home by 6:00. She is a good parent and loves her son.
Jamie gets home and grabs a sandwich from the fridge and goes to his room and starts to read.
2.As he flips through the pages, an image of a broad creek lined with golden-leaved aspens draws him in. Something about the place seems so peaceful, a feeling he craves after the unpleasant dealings with his classmates. A small map on the page confirms it’s nestled in the nearby hills not far from his home. Impulsively, Jamie whistles for his dog, Patter, an energetic Jack Rustle Terrier-mix, grabs a canvas knapsack that he quickly stuffs with apples, dog biscuits and a light jacket and leaves the front screen door slapping on its hinges on his way out of the house.

3.It takes Jamie and Patter a little over an hour to get there. Jamie stands there and looks at the stream as it pours out of the aspen grove. There is a little drop which Jamie visions as a waterfall. He watches the bubbles form as the water cascades over his waterfall and swirls around making small whirlpools of bubbles. The water flows on down into a small pool. This is too much for Patter who promptly jumps in the pool and scatters trout that have been enjoying the rays of the morning sun on the water. Jamie sits down and watches Patter, laughing at his antics.
